Danbury Resident Robert Edward DiBuono, 77, has Died

Robert Edward DiBuono, 77, of Danbury, Connecticut, passed away on December 24, 2019, surrounded by his family after a sudden illness.
 
Robert was born on June 28, 1942 in Larchmont, New York to Sal and Julia (Curcio) DiBuono. Raised in New Rochelle, New York, Robert attended Iona Prep where he was co-captain of the 1960 Gaels football team. In addition, he was elected to the All Catholic High School Team and nominated to the Westchester All County Team. Upon graduating from University of Dayton with a BA degree, Robert attended Pace University and Iona Graduate School of Business.
 
Robert’s career was in sales and marketing with General Foods Corporation, Faberge, Max Factor, Tetley Tea and Lehn and Fink. He also served for six years in the New York ANG 105th Squadron. Upon retirement, his favorite past times were golf, traveling with his loving companion, and spending time with his family. He worked and golfed at The Ridgefield Golf Club and was the chair of the grounds committee for his condominium complex.
 
He is survived by his daughter, Christine DiBuono, her husband, Tom Taylor, and his granddaughter Calla Taylor of Somerville, MA; his son, Bob DiBuono of Clifton, NJ; his brother, Sal DiBuono and his wife, Jane DiBuono of Mashpee, MA; and his loving partner and soul mate, Renee Celentano of Somers, NY.
 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 1:15 PM at St. Mary's Church; 55 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery; 110 North Street, Ridgefield. Friends will be received on Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Kane Funeral Home; 25 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD), 55 Kenosia Avenue, Danbury, CT 06810, www.rarediseases.org/donate
