Standing up against racism in downtown Danbury

A peaceful protest organized by Danbury High School grad Solomon James took place today in Danbury's downtown area. The event was attended by hundreds of locals who joined in solidarity to stand up against racism.

Participants chanted "black lives matter" and carried homemade signs that read "Say their names" "I can't breath" "Black lives matter".

Danbury Police were present to support marchers and to assure all were safe. "We fully support the protesters' right to peaceful assembly and freedom of speech," police said.
