Danbury Resident Arthur E. Merrin, 90, has Died

Arthur E. Merrin, 90, of Danbury, died at his home on Wednesday, January 20, 2021.  Mr. Merrin was born in the Bronx, New York, on August 24, 1930 son of Murray and Mildred (Binder) Merrin.  He attended New York schools and moved to CA with his family when he was in his teens.

After graduating from USC with a degree in Business/Accounting, he moved to Switzerland where he lived for 10 years working and pursuing his love of the arts, dance, and theater. Upon return to the USA, he worked as an auditor and controller for several California Film Studios before ending his career working for his father’s commercial construction company. Upon retirement, Ed moved to Danbury to continue writing plays and pursuing theater, and enjoying the NY Broadway scene. Ed had a mind for numbers and a heart for the arts and his curiosity for life and people only enhanced his impish charm and witty humor. Ed was a sweet man who was a wonderful friend to many.

Graveside funeral services and interment will take place on Sunday, January 24, 2021, at 2 PM in Maple Shade Cemetery with Cantor Penny Kessler officiating. All are invited to attend.  Facial coverings and social distancing will be required.
