Danbury resident Gail Baird, Bethel High School grad, member of St. Peter Church in Danbury, has died

Gail Kathleen (Burke) Baird, 76, of Danbury, wife of Richard A. Baird, died on Monday evening, April 26, 2021, at Danbury Hospital.

Mrs. Baird was born in White Plains, New York, July 7, 1944, a daughter of the late John and Genevieve (Welsh) Burke.

She graduated from Bethel High School with the Class of 1962. Mrs. Baird was a retired bookkeeper and a member of St. Peter Catholic Church of Danbury.

In addition to her husband of forty-six years, she is survived by two sons, Michael A. Baird and his wife Kristy and Kevin C. Baird, a daughter Sharon C. Magner and her husband John, a brother Jay Burke and a sister Cheryl Ann Gross. Four grandchildren, Ian and Dylan Magner, and Caelyn and Christian Baird. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Baird was predeceased by a son, Sean Baird, and his wife Erin Shea and by a brother James Burke.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at 9:15 a.m. in St. Peter Church, 121 Main St., Danbury with Fr. Gregg D. Mecca officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Bethel.

The family will receive friends in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury on Friday, April 30, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
