Danbury Westerners Snap Losing Streak by Defeating the Ocean State Waves 7-4

The Danbury Westerners ended their four-game losing streak by defeating the Ocean State Waves 7-4 on June 11 at Old Mountain Field.
 
Danbury catcher Dylan Kim got the Westerners’ offense started in the top of the second inning with his first solo home run of the season. Later on, Banks Griffith brought in Sebastian Murillo with a sacrifice fly to give Danbury an early 2-0 lead.
 
Danbury added three more runs in the third with a Will Gersky two-run home run and an RBI single from Westy third baseman Zach Selinger.
 
Ocean State answered in the bottom half of the third inning off of a fielder’s choice, a balk by Danbury pitcher Jimmy Fahey and a passed ball that got by Dylan Kim before adding on an additional run in the fourth on a sacrifice fly.
 
Danbury added two more insurance runs in the seventh and eighth innings before Coleman Picard came in for the ninth and got the save for the Westerners.
 
The winning pitcher for Danbury was Sean Hogan, who threw two innings of relief for the Westerners.
 
The Danbury Westerners will host the Bristol Blues tonight at Rogers Park at 6:30 PM. The game will be livestreamed on the NECBL Network.
