Danbury Music Centre’s second annual Chamber Music Intensive August 2-7

Chamber Music Intensive program and string quartet concert announced.

The Danbury Music Centre’s second annual Chamber Music Intensive will take place August 2-7, 2021. The program is open for intermediate to advanced string players ages 15 and older and coached by internationally renowned faculty. There is still a chance to apply before the July 25 deadline!

Coaches Bulgarian Joana Genova who is Assistant Professor at the University of Indianapolis and second violinist of The Indianapolis Quartet. She is Co-Artistic Director of Taconic Music in Manchester (Vermont) along with her husband, Ariel Rudiakov and has been a frequent soloist with the Danbury Symphony Orchestra. Heather Braun is the first violinist of Arneis Quartet and on the faculty of Boston University School of Music, and St. Anselm College (New Hampshire).

Violist and conductor Ariel Rudiakov, is the Artistic Director of the Danbury Symphony Orchestra and adjunct faculty at The University of Indianapolis where he coaches chamber music and conducts the UIndy Chamber Orchestra. Belgian cellist Tom Landschoot teaches at Arizona State University and is the Artistic Director of Sonoran Chamber Music Festival.

All four players are on the summer faculty of Taconic Music and perform together frequently. Come hear them in concert on Thursday, August 5 at 7:30pm, Marian Anderson Recital Hall at the Danbury Music Centre. The program features string quartets by Rachmaninov, Beethoven, and Stephen Dankner. Suggested donation at the door is $15.
