Eastern students from Danbury recognized for academic excellence in spring 2022

More than 300 Eastern Connecticut State University students were recognized for scholarly excellence at the conclusion of the spring 2022 semester. Given by academic departments across the University, the recognitions included induction into 15 academic honor societies, scholarship awards and departmental distinctions.

Among those honored were the following Danbury residents:

Nina Cruciani, a senior who majors in Psychology. Cruciani received departmental honors for high distinction at the Department of Psychological Sciences annual induction and awards ceremony on April 22 in the Student Center's Betty R. Tipton Room.

Brendan Cubberly, a junior who majors in Mathematics. Cubberly was inducted into the Kappa Mu Epsilon national mathematics honor society at the Department of Mathematical Sciences annual induction on April 29 in the J. Eugene Smith Library.

Sophia Henry is a senior who majors in English. Henry was awarded for excellence in journalism at the Department of Communication's Celebration of Excellence on April 19 in the Fine Arts Instructional Center Concert Hall.

Kayden Louzada is a sophomore who majors in Psychology. Louzada was inducted into the Psi Chi international psychology honor society at the Department of Psychological Sciences annual induction and awards ceremony on April 22 in the Student Center's Betty R. Tipton Room.

Jordan Madaus, a junior who majors in Secondary Education and Mathematics. Madaus was inducted into the Kappa Mu Epsilon national mathematics honor society at the Department of Mathematical Sciences annual induction on April 29 in the J. Eugene Smith Library.

Gaia Mistriel is a senior who majors in Health Sciences. Mistriel was awarded for having an Outstanding Undergraduate Research or Independent Study, as well as recognized for being an Outstanding Senior at the sixth annual Health Sciences Awards Ceremony on April 21 in the Science Building.
