This year's Muhlenberg College Studio Art Honors Thesis Class, including Nicolas Savo of Danbury, presented their work at an exhibit opening at Gallery Petite in Brooklyn, New York, on Saturday, April 9.
A few hours drive by a Muhlenberg van brought the students to the gallery where they immediately began to curate their exhibits. It was truly a group effort; everyone played a role in the decisions of what work would hang on the walls of the gallery.
The honors thesis is a continuation of the cumulative undergrad experience from the fall semester. Having shared a classroom for many months, the students were very comfortable with each other and valued each other's opinions when it came to hanging the culmination of a year's worth of work.
The Gallery Petite exhibit opened at 6 p.m. and welcomed family, friends and wanderers alike. The artists greeted visitors throughout the evening and the long, exhausting, yet exhilarating day came to an end when the group headed back to campus.
The honors studio art students participated in a second spring gallery opening on Monday, May 2, in the Martin Art Gallery in Muhlenberg College's Baker Center of the Arts.
