Brookfield resident Joanne (Sacowitz) Volpe, 81, longtime employee of Danbury Orthopedics, has died

Joanne (Sacowitz) Volpe, 81, of Brookfield, wife of Dominick C. Volpe Jr., died on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at her home.

Mrs. Volpe was born in Danbury on April 13, 1942, a daughter of the late Joseph and Eva (Taylor) Sacowitz.  She attended Danbury schools and upon graduation was employed with the former Castro Convertible Corporation as a secretary.  It was at Castro Convertible where she met her future husband Dominick.  

In 1969, Mrs. Volpe joined the administrative staff of Danbury Orthopedics.  A position she held for forty-six retiring as an administrative manager in 2015.

She enjoyed travel, attending Broadway shows, and most of all the time spent with her immediate and extended family.

Mrs. Volpe was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish of Danbury.

In addition to her husband of sixty-one years, Mrs. Volpe is survived by a son Dominick C. Volpe III and his wife Joan, a brother Anthony Sacowitz and his wife Joan, a sister Vera DePoto and her husband Joseph, a granddaughter Rachel Volpe,  a brother in law Charles "Chick" Volpe Sr., nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be private.

There will be no calling hours.
