St. Greg's Receives $10,000 Grant

It was recently announced that Saint Gregory the Great School has been awarded a $10,000 grant from Foundations in Education.

On February 1, 2018, Mrs. Suzanne Curra, Principal, along with three teachers attended a Grants Reward Reception hosted by the Most Reverend Frank J. Caggiano and Foundations in Education. These teachers attended the reception on behalf of the entire faculty who submitted the grant application.

This is Foundations inaugural year for offering Innovation and Leadership Grants to teachers and school principals. The grants promote innovation in Catholic school education by supporting teachers' creative and innovative projects for the classroom or school. Grants through this program are intended for school initiatives that promote innovation and leadership and have a long-term impact on student learning. St. Gregory the Great School submitted their grant request of $10,000 to implement STEAM (STEM + Arts) enrichment classes into their curriculum. These classes are brought to us through Level Up Village. The students will partner with peers in other countries to collaborate on projects in courses such as Global Storybook Engineers, Global Programmers, and Global Inventors. Some of these courses require the purchase of 3-D printers, which St. Gregory the Great School is able to do with this grant.
