Danbury Library Offers Summer Writing Classes

The Danbury Public Library is pleased to announce the focus of its summer writing classes for 2018.

Building on the popularity of the Danbury Writers’ Critique Group, Ms. Serena Twombly will be introducing new and returning students to the “essential writer’s toolkit.” These workshop-style classes will meet twice a month on June 14 & 28, July 12 & 26 and August 9 & 23 from 5:30-6:45pm in the Library’s Technology Center Conference Room. The workshops are all free of charge.

“I will also be covering how to get started writing a memoir since several members of our writing community approached me with this interest," offers Ms. Twombly.  The Library’s summer writing workshops will provide an opportunity for writers of fiction and/or poetry to share their work and receive constructive feedback.

The Danbury Public Library has become a writer’s oasis, offering eclectic writing workshops in the genres of: poetry, romance writing, fiction writing, business writing, memoir writing and, coming soon in the Fall, Zen writing.

“These are exciting times for writers in the greater Danbury area,” states adult librarian, Jodi L. Weisz, MLIS. We have coalesced an interesting group of inspiring and seasoned writers who have found a supportive community of fellow writers at the Danbury Public Library.”

To register for these upcoming writers’ workshops, visit the Library’s website at danburylibrary.org and click on the “Events” link or email jweisz@danburylibrary.org or call 203.797.4505. ext. 7728.
