Three questions with Deb Linley, Director of Vitti's Dance Studio.
Why did you start your business?
When a person finds something that they are enthusiastic and passionate about, there is a natural tendency to want to share it with people in their immediate circle as well as other members of the community. This is precisely how John Vitti, a former North American and New England Champion, felt almost 45 years ago when he decided to open Vitti’s Dance Studio in his home. John had begun dancing and competing in Ballroom and Latin dance as a young child, and his love and talent of dancing led him in the inevitable direction of wanting to share his knowledge with others so that they may also experience the joy he found through dance. In 2010, John expanded the business to where it currently resides at 10 Precision Rd in Danbury.

This is a very long list, but we would most love to help others experience the gifts that Ballroom Dancing has given to all of us over the years. We believe in this day and age when so many of us face many challenges, fears and difficulties in our everyday lives, Ballroom dance offers us a way to help cope as we utilize our brains and bodies in ways that produce healthy endorphins contributing to our overall sense of well-being. It helps to calm us when we’re stressed, letting us come back into a place of balance and wholeness. On a social level, it gives us a sense of family and belonging as it promotes and creates connections with like-minded people that further enhance our lives. Most of all it offers the gift of fun – when we’re having fun, the rest of it happens automatically!
Our numerous types of dance lessons are what draw people to our studio, but in addition to that they are attracted to the fact that no contracts are required – students are allowed to come and go as they please with no high-pressure sales pitches. We are very flexible – we want to provide you with a way to achieve your goals, whether it be social, competitive or just a temporary visit while we choreograph your first dance for your wedding! People of our community are offered high-quality lessons at affordable prices, plus monthly socials where they can socialize and practice all of their newly acquired dance skills! Along with this, our services provide a feeling of accomplishment that comes with mastering a skill whether it be a new dance step or combination, or possibly acquiring a certain type of dance technique which boosts your confidence and gives you a feeling of achievement.
