Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT COLTT (Centering Our Lives Through Touch)!

Three questions with Wayne Leiss, founder of COLTT.

Why did you start your business?

After 28 years in the corporate arena of IT and IT Security in banking, I decided to follow a different path as the Executive Director of a local non-profit theater.  At that time, I became a Licensed Massage Therapist to help “balance the books”.  Through massage school, I was introduced to dōTERRA Essential Oils.  After 2 years at the non-profit, I left to work full time in my own Massage and Essential Oil Coach business.

Finish this sentence in regard to your business. “I wish I could…”

I wish I could share the benefits of essential oils with a greater number of people.  In conjunction with lifestyle changes and exercise, they have helped me to support my body systems allowing me to eventually eliminate all prescription medications.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

I use many local businesses including Minuteman Press of Danbury, Bethel IT Services (computer repairs), Writing Associates LLC, Blue Orchid Marketing, Howard Burtis CPA, Danbury Sports Dome, Comcast Business.
