Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Clean Water Man!

Three questions with Ted & Maria Mullen, owners of Clean Water Man.

Why did you start our business

Clean Water Man, Inc, was started in 2005 because we believe in helping people obtain clean water in their homes. With chemical pollutants, pharmaceutical drugs, and numerous bacteria making their way into water tables, etc., the business has helped others make their water potable and safe for bathing, drinking and cooking. The water industry is filled with misinformation, so our goal is to provide information as up to date and accurately as we can and to provide green technology to clean water.

What is your best selling product/service?

Our best selling product is a German designed and Polish manufactured 6 stage reverse osmosis drinking water system. This is a premium brand that is distributed through our sister company, Danbury Manufacturing, Inc.  It is a high quality, household version, of the reverse osmosis technology, which produces pure water in your own home, without the need for store-bought renditions bottled in plastic receptacles. Those who seek this product do so for reasons of illnesses that require the removal of contaminants, and of concern for the health of their families, etc., as pure and clean water is becoming a rarity.

How many local businesses do we use to support our business (products and services)

The local businesses supporting our businesses are the Savings Bank of Danbury for all our banking and overseas wiring needs, Blake Equipment and Patterson for supplying some of the products we sell, and Taylor and Sons, Plumbing, for helping with our installations.
