You're IT FluxFit!

Three questions with Alyssa Buckheit FluxFit Founder & Owner.

FluxFit is coming January 2020 to 3 Sugar Hollow Road (Marcus Dairy Plaza) in Danbury. FluxFit is an innovative total body group fitness studio, offering daily customized workouts with various equipment involvement.

Why did you start your business?

From a young age, I have always had a passion for health and fitness and that passion only intensified as I got older. In 2016 I created my own training plan that led me to complete the 2017 Boston Marathon and following that, I knew I wanted to make fitness part of a career. I obtained my Personal Trainer's certification through ACE and started coaching fitness classes as a part-time gig in addition to my full-time job and realized last year that fitness coaching was what I was meant to be doing full-time. In thinking about FluxFit, I knew that I could make a difference in people's lives and lead clients into a healthier and more active lifestyle. I had a passion, I knew what components of fitness were needed for success, and I took a leap of faith and executed on my vision.

What is your best selling product/service?

The core focus of our business is instructor-led, high-energy and safe group fitness classes. But one of the largest factors that inhibit people from exercising is time and resources. With that, we wanted to make it as easy as possible for our clients to make it to the gym, especially parents. We are offering onsite childcare in our 'kids playroom' while parents take a class. Additionally, we will offer Parent-and-Me Movement classes; and although this is not the core focus, we do find this to be a big up-sell to many clients who are interested in us.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

We are on target to open in January 2020 and are currently in the early stages of our build-out. We know we will be working with many more fantastic local vendors and business in the future, but so far we have had excellent experiences working with Ridgefield Glass, Waterman Electric, Elegance in Painting, Custom T's and More, and are in conversations with Signorama and Market Place Kitchen and Bar.
