Three questions with Kristin Dubois, owner of Muse Hair Studio.
Why did you start your business?
I recently opened my ideal salon space- Muse Hair Studio. After relocating from Massachusetts due to my husband's job, and having to leave a successful career and clientele behind, Muse was founded.
I wanted the studio to be modern yet calming, sort of a respite for women if you will. A smaller space that would allow for personalized service, the latest hair treatments, and the finest products. A space that nourishes not only hair but the soul.
I was sure that a new beauty endeavor would have to represent who I am or somehow incorporate where my interests were leading me. I wanted to find a way to connect my love of the beauty industry with mindfulness on some level. Achieving this fully is a collaborative endeavor so I’m always open to meeting with local artisans and creatives in the Danbury area.
I would have to say that I’m creative above all else so my concentration lies in balayage, painting, and color in many degrees. Hair integrity is of utmost importance.
The entire hair process from start to finish is important to me so I consistently recommend Modern Nature as home care- a trendy product line that I believe embodies my vision, it’s truly superior- naturally based, vegan, cruelty-free, leaping bunny certified.etc. Company values are steeped in gratitude and giving back.
Do you work with the local community?
We will be hosting pop-up shops, mini-meditations, and wine and wash parties in-salon.
