Why Small Businesses Matter Reimagined

Small businesses matter - now more than ever. They are answering the call with innovation and determination like never before.

We hope you join us in supporting them by sharing their story far and wide and shopping local! We are thankful to Fairfield County Bank for their continued support and making this series possible.

Step inside The Art Spot!

Three questions with Joanne Hunter, founder of The Art Spot.

What do you want the community to know? Are there ways for the community to help you and other local businesses to prosper?

Every small business needs support from its community. Our loyal “art” families have gone out of their way to let us know we’re valued; it’s a wonderful feeling. Many reached out to us asking if we would offer virtual classes this fall. We’re happy to announce we’re publishing our new online class and workshop format, for both kids and adults! This schedule is available on our website, ArtSpotInfo.com. We hope you will take some time to bring art into your life while supporting our business.

Are you offering any new products, or ways for customers to purchase your products or services that are popular during this crisis?

We’ve discovered many schools have removed all art from studies this year! This is not a good thing for anyone – in a supportive atmosphere, art is known to offer a calm meditative mindset. Our broad selection of classes will offer this, a respite from the stress of all the uncertainty in our communities. Art can bring peace to our overworked minds, tease our brains, challenge our sense of adventure, and offer comfort while we maneuver though all new manners of work and school.

But why The Art Spot?? Just like our in-person lessons, our online classes spark imagination and creativity. We want our virtual students, young and old, to discuss while they discover, have hands-on fun while they interact and create, and find calm, while they explore art. The classes are not typical meetings or academic classrooms. In a more informal atmosphere, we’ll offer the art allure of working communally, collaborating while making art, exploring while reinforcing skills. We’ll have Facebook art galleries, and Instagram art shows, high school portfolio shows, and more.

Please share the ways your business is adapting to keep your customers and employees safe in addition to the standard guidelines.

What else is new for The Art Spot customer? Online Fine Art Home School classes tied to literature, history, and science are available. And in response to challenging schedules, student cohorts, pod learners, neighborhood bus routes, scout troops, book clubs, any group or organization, may request a unique custom program or even a one-time workshop for their group. This includes one-time corporate team building workshops as well. Importantly, we can schedule all these so it is convenient for your specific time frames.

The Art Spots’ flexibility to accommodate change is paramount for our business to reinvent itself. It’s not easy in these times, but we look forward to seeing other local businesses find their reinvented path. If we all consciously support local, our towns and cities will be able to stay alive now and find the same robust opportunities on the other end of this virus. So, remember, art can only help, give it a try - we look forward to meeting you!
