Why Small Businesses Matter Reimagined

Small businesses matter - now more than ever. They are answering the call with innovation and determination like never before.

We hope you join us in supporting them by sharing their story far and wide and shopping local! We are thankful to Fairfield County Bank for their continued support and making this series possible.

Three questions with Kim Gifford, founder of Kim Gifford Homes.

Are you offering any new products or ways for customers to purchase your products or services that are popular during this crisis?

COVID-19 has made an incredibly positive shift in the Real Estate Market here in Greater Danbury and Candlewood Lake. Since early in the year, I have been showing and selling homes to many, many buyers who are leaving New York for the beautiful landscape, fresh air, and quality of life here in Connecticut. They usually arrive with plenty of PPE, but I always provide masks, sanitizer, booties, gloves, and wipes as needed.

Are there certain individuals or organizations that supported you and your business through this trying time?

My clients are amazing and the best support anyone could have, especially during this pandemic. They recommend me to their family and friends in the area and NY....for this I am eternally grateful. Occasionally I'll receive cards and gifts and I love receiving before and after pictures of updates to their homes!

Please share the ways your business is adapting to keep your customers and employees safe in addition to the standard guidelines.

Sometimes buyers are unable to come to CT to see properties in person, so I offer to do video walk-throughs for them by using Facetime or Facebook messenger video so they can see the homes and living space, backyards, gardens, and neighborhoods. Buyers love this convenience and I've sold quite a few properties this way!

We are very respectful when showing properties. The goal is to show the homes, limit showings to principal decision-makers only, minimize contact with surfaces. Everyone is very respectful and appreciative to be able to continue to see and sell properties during this challenging time.

I always help my clients by offering local recommendations for contractors for all kinds of work from kitchen and bath renovations, installing a whole house generator, trash removal, snow and lawn care. I also love to give them recommendations for local restaurants - I'm happy to be their resource for everything local - forever!
