Why Small Businesses Matter Reimagined

Small businesses matter - now more than ever. They are answering the call with innovation and determination like never before.

We hope you join us in supporting them by sharing their story far and wide and shopping local! We are thankful to Fairfield County Bank for their continued support and making this series possible.

Step inside Homagination!

Three questions with Homagination founder, Roy Carpenter.

What do you want the community to know? Are there ways for the community to help you and other local businesses to prosper?

Although COVID-19 has ruined many things this year, a visit with Santa Claus isn't one of them! In fact, my new start-up, Homagination, makes a Santa experience even better with personal, virtual visits that bring the magic of the holiday season - right at home. In a year that has been particularly challenging, we are happy to bring some joy to the children in our community. No malls, no lines, no stress! Our platform allows kids to have a live video conversation with Santa, personalized with the information provided by the family in advance.

Not only do we create priceless memories, but our downloadable videos that capture your child's delight can be shared and cherished for years to come. I'd love for the community to help us get the word out there about this alternative to the traditional Santa experience this year. I'm also interested in exploring how my platform can partner with other local businesses to elevate the experience. We were founded to make the dreams of children come to life in a high-quality and easily accessible format and we appreciate your help in sharing our story!

Are you offering any new products or ways for customers to purchase your products or services that are popular during this crisis?

Our platform provides an opportunity for children to connect live with Santa Claus over video in a way that is completely COVID-safe. We offer five different magical journeys that have a unique set of features. All visits are conducted over video or phone to create a unique and personalized experience that will provide lasting memories. All video interactions will be recorded for family download, allowing the magic to be saved as a precious keepsake.

We recognize that families may not be able to gather this year. Some grandparents, aunts and uncles and other loved ones may miss out on seeing the children in their lives experience the magic of the season with an in-person visit to Santa. So often, those memories are captured in quick snapshots. With Homagination, not only can loved ones watch kids interact with Santa, but they can be included in the experience.

We want friends and families to experience the magic of the season together, even if they are physically apart.

Please share the ways your business is adapting to keep your customers and employees safe in addition to the standard guidelines.

I am pleased to share that we have provided a platform that allows for Santa Claus to still earn Holiday wages that they have come to rely on over the years. Without this alternative way to connect them with our youth, they would be struggling, as many depend on and earn most of their annual wages in the last two months of the year. Both our customers and our Santas are all kept safe during a time-of-year that typically comes with overcrowded malls and stores. All of this comes at a lower price and enables the "fully-captured" moment to last a lifetime.
