City of Danbury Level II Snow Emergency
All vehicles are prohibited from parking on City streets.
The Patriot Parking Garage is open free of charge throughout the duration of the storm. The parking ban will be in effect through snow-and-ice control operations. Cars remaining on City streets will be ticketed and towed.
It is strongly recommended that all residents limit travel unless it is absolutely necessary. Please use caution and stay safe.
Snow Emergency Ordinance, Sec. 46-124.
(a) No vehicle shall be permitted to park or remain stationary on any City street or highway so as to obstruct, hinder or otherwise delay snow-and-ice-control operations. All such vehicles must be removed no later than two (2) hours after the start of a snow emergency, as defined herein, and may be returned after all snow-and-ice-control operations have ceased.
(b) The Police Department is authorized and empowered to take possession of and to remove any parked vehicle or vehicles which obstruct traffic or prevent snow or ice removal on such streets and highways.
(d) A snow emergency, pursuant to this section, is deemed to be in effect once declared by the Mayor, with and after consultation with the Director of Public Works or his designee, and upon the dispatching of snow and ice removal equipment.
(e) Upon such declaration by the Mayor, snow-and-ice-removal protocol, as may be established, shall be deemed to be in effect until the cessation of snow-and-ice-removal operations or as otherwise may be declared.
