Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Seagull Speech & Language Services!

Three questions with Alison Waldmann, founder of Seagull Speech & Language Services.

Why did you start your business?

I’m Alison Grady Waldmann, M.S. CCC-SLP, and I founded Seagull Speech under the premise that high-quality speech therapy can be successfully delivered via telepractice. Telepractice helps incorporate speech therapy into busy family schedules.

What is your best-selling product/service?

Through my years of experience, I have seen what works and what doesn’t when it comes to delivering high-quality speech therapy through telehealth. My formula for success is based on this knowledge and is the framework through which my team of highly skilled speech-language pathologists delivers therapy.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

I am using De Young media and the Local Mom's Network in CT for building my online presence and marketing.
