Why Small Businesses Matter: SandorMax Marketing

Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT SandorMax Marketing!

Four questions with Julia Nable, Principal of SandorMax Marketing.

Why did you start your business?

We started our creative marketing agency, SandorMax, in 2005 after moving to Connecticut from New York City. We realized there was a need for high-quality creative services in the area that rivaled the agencies in Manhattan.

My background is in marketing and my partner Zoltan is a creative director, so we offer comprehensive creative marketing services to our clients that bring our decades of experience to each engagement. Our services run the gamut from branding and print design to digital, advertising, and social media. We even design products for some of our clients, as well as exhibits and environmental design.

What is your best-selling product/service?

Over the years our digital solutions and websites have been highly in demand. We specialize in tourism and luxury website platforms, social media strategy and implementation, and managing digital communications and content creation for our clients. Most recently, our websites for towns that are geared toward cultural tourism and supporting small businesses have won national awards, including ExploreWashingtonCT.com and inRidgefield.com.

These platforms provide towns with the ability to promote the entirety of their communities - cultural organizations, local businesses, and residents - and are a boost to economic development.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

We try to support our local businesses whenever possible, both in Newtown and in the towns we serve. Being that we live and work in Sandy Hook, we are thrilled with the food scene that has developed here.

The latest new openings right in Sandy Hook, including Uncle Matt's Bakery, Dolce Gelato, and Gino’s Parlor, are our go-to favorites, as well as the new reinvention of the Inn at Marygold's on Main Street.

Have you "reimagined" your small business?

Our business has always taken advantage of the latest technology platforms for supporting our clients’ marketing initiatives. During the pandemic, we transformed into an all virtually support model for our staff and clients. This has been instrumental in supporting our clients and ensuring on-time, on-budget project delivery no matter the difficulty of circumstances.

Another transformation has to do with how we support towns in telling their stories and reaching wider audiences to support their greater economic development. This includes a suite of services that focus on quality web editorial content, social media, and targeted advertising outreach to attract visitors, new residents, and new businesses.

Julia would like to nominate Uncle Matt’s Bakery to be featured next!
