Why Small Businesses Matter
Shop small, do big things for your community
Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!
You're IT Unlocking Connecticut!
Four questions with Lora Karam and Beverley Canepari founders of Unlocking Connecticut.
Why did you start your business?
We started our business six years ago to support and market businesses in our state. There are so many gems out there and we wanted to find and share them with our readers! We love showing our experiences at these awesome places and encouraging CT residents to go and support them as well.
What is your best-selling product/service?
We offer full features on our website that include professional photos and a write-up about the business and what we love about it. We also provide social media marketing and Instagram features.
How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?
Have you "reimagined" your small business?
We think about lots of other ways to develop our business and grow; ideas that we've put into action, like creating videos with our own unique twist, which has been popular for businesses who want a creative and fun way to gain more visibility!
Lora and her team would like to nominate Blue Star Bazaar and Heibeck's as Cross Culture to be featured next!
