Three questions with Jennifer Stoltz, co-founder of Jbird Web Design.
Why did you start your business?
Michael and I have worked in the web design field since 1998. Back then if a new or small business wanted a website, they would need to hire a digital design agency. Unfortunately, it was mostly large businesses who could afford this tremendous cost.
Now, web design tools have become more accessible to designers and technical developers, which has been an important and positive shift in the industry. About five years ago we decided to take our collective experience and love of web design and start our own “boutique” digital design agency. Michael is fluent on the technical side and my passion and expertise are on the design/writing side. Together we have been able to help clients in our community take their business goals and make them a reality. And we truly love what we do!
What is your best-selling product/service?
Our services vary depending on the needs of our clients. Some clients want a full eCommerce store to sell their products online, while others are looking for a purely informational website to showcase their services.
Have you "reimagined" your small business?
When we first founded our company, our goal was to design and build websites for all business sizes. After working with our first few clients who were entrepreneurs and small business owners, we realized they needed to be able to compete digitally in their respective markets. Since a website is one of the greatest and most effective marketing tools to reach a wide audience, it’s very important to have a beautiful and strategically designed website that helps to make a positive first impression.
And our passion is to help make that possible for every client we serve.
