Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT, Clay, in the Potters Hands!

Meet Roberta Ahuja, founder of Clay in the Potters Hands.

Why did you start your business?

I started my business to use the artistic gift that God gave me. It's for his purposes!

What is your best-selling product/service?

My best selling product is Functional pottery - such as mugs, garlic grater, olive oil jars, etc.

How many local businesses do you use to support your business (products and services) and can you name them?

Almost all of my supplies are bought from Baileys Ceramic Supplies in Kingston NY which is a small family business.

Have you "reimagined" your small business?

I have been consistently adapting my style and technique - experimenting and learning!

Clay in the Potters Hands is located at 1 Great Ring Road in Sandy Hook. Visit Clay in the Potters Hands online here, and make sure to check out their Facebook page as well!
