Art show at Danbury Fair Mall highlights Human Connection

The Danbury Fair Mall will feature an exhibit sponsored by the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut; a demonstration of how people are more similar than different.

“Human Connection” opens at 6 p.m. on July 7 with an opening reception next to Free People. The exhibit will feature 20 artists and their work in paint, ceramics, collage, photography, digital drawing, printmaking, and mixed media. The curator is Taylor Green, a painter in the Master of Fine Arts program at Western Connecticut State University. She also received her BA in anthropology and sociology, along with a minor in studio art, from WCSU. Green’s background in both art and social sciences allows her to connect the power of art and community to bring people together in this pop-up art exhibit.

“Our collective human experience is something that art has a way of revealing, especially when put together in a shared space,” Green said.

The artists include: Kirche Zeile, Thomas Carruthers, and Maritza, of Bethel; Wing Na Wong, Denise Rosa, Deept Nagaraja, Holli Levy, and Alma Faham, of Danbury; Tiffany Ferreira and Samuel Pintos, of Bridgeport; Carminie Bhatti of Stamford; Christian Calabro of Ridgefield; Lucy Gallagher of Waterbury; Francie Grace of Wilton; John Marsh of New Britain; Susan Nichols of Guilford, Andrea Rios of New Milford; Amuri Morris of Virginia; and Liselle Powder and Lisa D’Amico of New York.
