September is Library Card Sign-up Month, when libraries nationwide join the American Library Association (ALA) to remind parents, caregivers, and students that signing up for a library card is the first step on the path to academic achievement and lifelong learning.
Get “in your element” this September! Libraries play a crucial role in the education and development of children, offering a variety of programs to spark creativity and stimulate an interest in reading and learning.
Through access to technology, media resources and educational programs, a library card gives students the tools to succeed in the classroom and provides people of all ages opportunities to pursue their dreams, and explore new passions and interests. A library card is your most important school supply - use your library card and spark a new hobby! Danbury Library will launch a month-long advocacy campaign encouraging all members of our community to sign up for or renew their library card.
Library cards are available to all members of the community, including residents, educators, city employees, and college students alike. We will provide support to patrons so they may better understand the resources and opportunities available to them with their library card. To learn
more, renew your card, or apply online, please visit https://danburylibrary.org/get-a-card/.
As an essential city asset, the Danbury Library is committed to being a welcoming destination, responsive to the needs of our city’s diverse community, and a source of inspiration through words and ideas.
