Danbury dance studio celebrates expansion with ribbon cutting

An established dance studio in Danbury is celebrating its grand re-opening in a new, larger location with a ribbon-cutting and Halloween party on October 13.

Tiffany Montieth, who founded Dynamic Dance & Fitness in 2017, will be joined by Danbury Mayor Dean Esposito at the new studio at 31 Mill Plain Road on the second floor above the Good Year/Mohawk Tire store.

The celebration will begin at 5 p.m. and will include a hip-hop glow party, Halloween-themed games and activities, prizes, and snacks. The event is free and open to the public.

The 5,000-square-foot space includes three dance rooms, a spacious lobby, a staff room, and three bathrooms to better serve the studio’s nearly 300 students.

“With this larger space we will be able to reach even more families and accomplish our mission of developing confident lives with a healthy avenue for young and older people to relieve stress, embrace happiness, and grow friendships,” Montieth said. “I love being a part of the Danbury community and even having our own little dance community inside of that.”

The mission of Dynamic Dance & Fitness, recognized as Connecticut Magazine’s Best of CT 2021 Best Dance & Fitness Center, is to provide a safe and friendly environment where students learn dance technique in addition to building confidence, forming friendships that last a lifetime, and nurturing a healthy lifestyle.

The studio offers non-competitive classes as well as an opportunity to join a performance team that performs at charity events, nursing homes and parades. Montieth offers season-based classes for families looking for a short commitment, year-long recital-based classes, and also fitness classes for adults.

Montieth has taught for 20 years and her students have won multiple awards and top-place finishes. She holds an associate degree in Performing Arts and has attended training with famous choreographers, including Mia Michaels, Chris Judd, and Wade Robson, as well as many others from Broadway Dance Center, Steps in NYC, and So You Think You Can Dance. Also, she is a member of the Dance Studio Owner’s Association, the largest community of Dance Studio Owners in the world.
