Mayor Mark Boughton thanks supporters, asks them to keep fighting for Connecticut

Last night Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton hung his hat in the race for Connecticut governor. Bob Stefanowski earned the Republican nomination, beating out Trumbull First Selectman Tim Herbst, Steve Obsitnik from Westport and David Stemerman of Greenwich. On the Democratic side, Ned Lamont will be the November candidate for governor.

In a note to supporters, Boughton said, "While the results last night were not what we hoped for, I cannot thank you enough for the enormous amount of hard work and dedication you put into fighting for Connecticut's Comeback." He added, "We still have an opportunity to put our state, and our home, back on track. I hope you will continue fighting for Connecticut's future as we look forward to November."
