Storm takes life of 41 year old from New Fairfield

The Connecticut State Police are reporting a fatality in New Fairfield due to yesterday's storm. 

State Police say that at approximately 5:10 pm on Tuesday, May 15 New Fairfield Police and fire personnel responded to Brush Hill Road, near Gillotti Road for a reported tree that struck a passing vehicle. Access to the area was restricted due to numerous fallen trees and downed power lines.

According to police, upon arrival, a 41-year-old female operator from New Fairfield was found to have sustained fatal injuries due to the impact of the tree. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Danbury Hospital where the medical examiner made recover of the body.

There was a three-year-old passenger in the vehicle who did not appear injured and was transported to Danbury Hospital for evaluation.
