Wilton Police Make Arrest Following 911 Call

Homeless Wilton man arrested for DUI

On 06/23/2018 at approximately 14:13hrs Wilton PD received a 911 call from a person that stated she was inside a green van somewhere in Wilton (location unknown), and that the driver was driving drunk. The phone call then got disconnected. Several callbacks were attempted and communication was reestablished. The complainant stated that they were driving on Old Belden Hill Rd near Kent Rd heading towards the Route 7 Connector. Wilton Police observed a 1999 green Ford El 50 van with blue flames along its sides turn southbound onto the Route 7 Connector. A traffic stop was initiated by Wilton Police on the Exit 2 off-ramp. CT State Troopers and Norwalk PD arrived on the scene as back up. The driver, identified as Jayson Shaw (DOB 06/23/1974), was detained. It was discovered that the 911 complainant was in the back of the van as well as another passenger. During the investigation the Standardized Field Sobriety

Tests were administered to Shaw, to which he was unable to perform to standard. He was subsequently arrested and charged with violation of CGS 14-227a Op. MV while under the influence. His BAC was later found to be 0.2419. He was issued a $250.00 USD and is currently scheduled for to appear before Norwalk Superior Court on 06/25/2018 at 10:00hrs.


Norwalk resident Peter Austin Ciaccio arrested for DUI, Failure to Drive in Proper Lane

On 06/23/2018, Peter Ciaccio turned himself into Wilton Police Headquarters for an outstanding warrant that was issued. The warrant was issued for Driving Under the Influence of Drugs or Alcohol and Failure to Drive in Proper Lane. The warrant stems from an incident that occurred on 05/15/2018, when Ciaccio got into a motor vehicle accident on Belden Hill Rd. Ciaccio was released shortly after on a $5,000 bond. Ciaccio was issued a court date of July 3, 2018.
