The Danbury Police Department is now accepting applications for the Fall 2018 session of the Citizen Police Academy.
The Danbury Police Department is currently offering the Citizen Police Academy to the residents of the City of Danbury, business owners in the City of Danbury as well as persons who work within the city. Sessions begin on September 11, 2018.
The course is intended to give individuals the opportunity to learn more about the operations of their police department, police procedures, and to foster enhanced understanding and cooperation between the police and the community they serve. It is not intended to make citizens into police officers but rather to heighten awareness of both the public and police in an effort to develop a partnership between both. The Danbury Police Department’s objective is to provide interactive instruction in many basic police department tasks as well as provide an opportunity for individuals to role-play and have hands-on experience with the tools of the police trade.
