Danbury Police Arrest Stamford Resident for Sexual Assualt at Danbury Fair Mall

On 2/16/2019, Officer Hector Rodriguez responded to the Danbury Fair Mall regarding a sexual assault complaint. An unknown male, who said he was a barber, approached the complainant. The suspect complimented the complainant on their hair while also inappropriately touching them without their consent. 

During his investigation, Officer Rodriguez requested the assistance of the local media by identifying the suspect. The local media published the suspect’s photograph, which led to the suspect’s identification.  Additionally, another victim came forward to report they too had previously experienced similar behavior from this suspect. The suspect had previously been told to not go back to the locations where this incident had occurred.   

The suspect was identified as, Kevin Hassan, 60-years-old, of Stamford, CT.  Based on his investigation, Officer Rodriguez submitted an arrest warrant application to the Danbury Superior Court.  The arrest warrant was approved, and on 05/29/2019, Kevin Hassan was taken into custody at his home by the Stamford Police. The Danbury Police Department took custody of Kevin Hassan.   Kevin Hassan was released after posting a $25,000.00 court set bond.  Kevin Hassan is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on 6/17/2019.

Charges: 
1. 3 counts of Sexual Assault in 4th degree (C.G.S. 53a-73a). 
2. 3 counts of Breach of Peace (C.G.S. 53-181(a)(5). 
3. Criminal Trespass in the 1st degree (C.G.S. 53a-107).
