Tropical Storm Fay is on the Way

  • Flash Flood Watch for Southern Connecticut, Northeast New Jersey, the Lower Hudson Valley, New York City, and Long Island.

  • From Friday morning through Friday evening.

  • Heavy rain showers and embedded thunderstorms are forecasted

Friday into Friday evening. A total of 1 to 3 inches of rainfall is forecast with locally higher amounts possible. Torrential rainfall within a short period of time will be possible and this could lead to flooding of low lying, urban and poor drainage areas. Some smaller streams and rivers could overflow.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS: A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.
