Danbury Fire Firefighters Receive Aid from Neighboring Departments to Battle Structure Fire on Carriage Lane

Earlier this morning crews were dispatched to Carriage Lane for a reported structure fire.

Upon arrival, crews were met with heavy smoke conditions and a fire in the basement that extended to the first floor and attic space of a raised ranch.

Assistance from West Redding Volunteer Fire Department, Georgetown Volunteer Fire Department and Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Department was received due to the lack of hydrants in the area. The occupants were displaced due to the fire and were assisted by American Red Cross Connecticut.

The Danbury Fire Marshal's Office was requested to the scene and is currently investigating the cause of the fire which is deemed undetermined at this time. One firefighter was transported to Danbury Hospital ER for an evaluation but has since been released.
