Danbury Police report body of adult male found in pond at entrance to Mill Plain Road

Last evening, Thursday, April 8 approximately 7 pm, Danbury Police report that a concerned citizen notified the Department of a possible body submerged in a retention pond at the entrance of 55 Mill Plain Road.
 
Responding officers confirmed the report and summoned police investigators, who were assisted by members of the Danbury Police Department Dive Team and the Danbury Fire Department. Upon removal from the pond, the body was determined to be an adult, white male, police say.
 
According to Danbury police, "While the state medical examiner has not yet determined the cause of death, preliminary investigation and examination of the remains conducted by a death investigator did not reveal apparent signs of trauma."
 
This incident is currently under investigation by the Danbury Police Detective Bureau, who is awaiting the results of a thorough examination of the body to determine the male's identity and cause of death.
