Danbury Police report 18 year died after being shot, investigate and ask for assistance from public

On Sunday, June 20, 2021, The Danbury Police Department received multiple complaints of gunshots coming from the area of Mill Ridge Road.
 
When responding officers arrived in the area, they found Yhameek Johnson, an 18-year-old city resident, being cared for by area residents. Yhameek was the victim of a drive-by shooting, as he had been shot minutes earlier. Officers rendered aid until emergency medical technicians arrived and later transported Yhameek to the Danbury Hospital.
 
Due to the severity of his injuries, Yhameek did not survive.
 
Danbury police investigators are currently investigating the incident and are asking for assistance from the public. The incident occurred at approximately 8 pm in the area of 19 Mill Ridge Rd. The assailant(s) have yet to be identified and the motive for the shooting is unknown. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a dark-colored SUV.
