On Thursday, July 22, 2021, Dontee Heyliger and Duane Perkins were arrested for various drug offenses incident to the execution of search and seizure warrants for the person of Dontee Heyliger, his residence, car, and phone.
Heyliger became a person of interest after the Danbury Police Department received citizen complaints about him selling illicit drugs throughout the City. As a result of a subsequent investigation, probable cause was established to believe Heyliger was involved in drug trafficking, which led to the Superior Court issuing the listed search and seizure warrants.
At approximately 12:00 p.m., July 22, 2021, investigators of the Danbury Police Special Investigations Division, with officers from the Patrol Division and other investigative units, established surveillance of 1 Bayberry Ln.., Danbury, the residence of Heyliger and Perkins. Shortly after 2:00 pm, Heyliger was seen driving away from his residence and proceeding to the parking lot of an office building on Germantown Rd, Danbury. After entering the parking lot, investigators saw Heyliger meet with an adult female waving her arms in the air as Heyliger came into her view.
After watching the two engage in a hand-to-hand transaction, investigators approached the two to execute the search warrants for Heyliger, his phone, and car and to further investigate the suspected drug transaction they had just witnessed. As a result, Heyliger and the female, Linda Andreasen, were found to be possessing illegal drugs. Based on the findings, both were arrested and transported to the Danbury Police Department.
Within minutes of Heyliger’s arrest, investigators proceeded to 1 Bayberry Ln. to execute the search warrant for his residence. Investigators found Duane Perkins in the residence upon entry. A search of the residence led to the discovery of a substantial quantity of Ecstacy tablets and money. Also found were powder cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Based on the findings, Perkins was also placed under arrest and transported to the Danbury Police Department. All arrested persons were charged with the listed offenses and later released.
