The missing boater has still not been found. Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP) will be on the lake today continuing the search.
On Sunday evening at approximately 7:30 pm, Brookfield Police reported that their Dive Team responded to the area of Candlewood Inn for a missing boater who jumped into the water and never resurfaced.
Brookfield Police say, "Day three of operations are underway as we continue to search for the missing boater. Please stay away from the area of Candlewood Inn/Brookfield Bay Marina."
According to police, the dive team dove into two different areas where it was believed the missing boater could be. Operations turned into sonar technology with negative results from those two dives and unsafe diving conditions. The Connecticut State Police took over sonar operators after the Brookfield Police team left.
