Visit Stop & Shop on Lake Ave in January and Support Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut!

Don’t feel so bad next time you leave your reusable grocery bags at home. Now, when you visit Stop & Shop on Lake Avenue in January and buy a reusable Community Bag at the store, $1 will go to the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut to support the nonprofit’s promotion of arts in the region.

The goal of the Stop & Shop Community Bag Program, which launched in May 2019, is to make a difference in the communities where shoppers live and work. Store leadership at the Stop & Shop at 44 Lake Ave. Extension selected the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut as the beneficiary for January. A $1 donation will go to the Cultural Alliance every time a $2.50 reusable Community Bag is purchased at the Lake Avenue location during January, unless otherwise directed by the customer through the Giving Tag attached to the bag.

“Stop & Shop is demonstrating its community spirit with this program, which will help the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut support artistic endeavors all around the region,” said Executive Director Lisa Scails. “I’m sure everyone who cares about art is grateful for this wonderful gesture.”

The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut is the heart of the region’s creativity to help communities connect and thrive. It is a 501(c)3 and regional service organization serving 10-towns in the Greater Danbury area, with aspirations to improve access and growth of arts and culture to improve quality of life and the economy.
