Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra Presents Soirée on Feb. 22 at The Ridgefield Playhouse

Join the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra for a marvelous evening of music on Saturday, February 22nd at 8:00 PM at The Ridgefield Playhouse. The concert, entitled “Soirée”, features acclaimed pianist Conrad Tao who will join the RSO to perform an incredible rendition of the exquisite Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin. Also on the concert program, Stravinsky’s lively and entertaining “Octet” and Poulenc’s beautiful “Sinfonietta”.

Tao, whose appearance in the fall of 2018 with the New York Philharmonic was selected as a New York Times Best Classical Music Performance of 2018, has also had debuts with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Boston Symphony, and performed a recital at Carnegie Hall all within the past year. He also won a 2019 New York Dance and Performance Award (“Bessie”) for a collaboration with dancer Caleb Teicher for a work entitled More Forever and just released his third classical album.

“This concert will truly resemble a soirée—an evening gathering with fabulous music!” says RSO Executive Director Laurie Kenagy. “Presenting this type of concert at The Ridgefield Playhouse is wonderful. It’s intimate and the acoustics are terrific. You are closer to the musicians than in a large hall and their connection with the audience is engaging and adds to the concert experience.”

The concert is on February 22, 2020, at 8:00 PM at The Ridgefield Playhouse. For tickets visit www.ridgefieldsymphony.org or call 203.438.3889.
