Coronavirus will not stop Women's Center from working to end domestic violence

As an agency serving the needs of those dealing with the trauma of domestic and sexual violence, our response to COVID-19 is focused on their safety and security while also taking the necessary steps to protect the well-being of our dedicated staff, volunteers and community members in the 13-town area we serve.

As such, we have moved to remote working and a streamlined system of providing crisis services focused on minimizing community exposure to play a role in flattening the curve of disease spread.

Effective Immediately:

* Our 24/7 crisis hotlines remain fully operational and staffed;
* Elizabeth House residential facility remains open and staffed to support those forced to flee violence in their homes;
* Crisis counseling, individual counseling and legal advocacy options are available Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., via phone and email;
* Our Court Advocates will be following protocols set by the state and as of now will be available at Danbury Superior Court Monday - Friday for arraignments only; crisis counseling, individual counseling and legal advocacy options are available Monday - Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., via phone and email;
* Campus Advocates are working remotely via phone and email;
* Volunteers are working remotely;
* Our Internship program has been suspended indefinitely;
* We have temporarily suspended all support groups and workshops until further notice;
* All in-person training and meetings are cancelled until further notice;
* We are not able to receive any donations of goods at this time, but are always grateful for any monetary donations;

Thank you for your understanding during this most difficult and unprecedented time. Together we will get through this, and nothing, not even this virus, will stop us from "working to end the violence."
Sending my best wishes and gratitude for all your continued support. Stay safe and healthy!
