Danbury's Cross Culture Kombucha owner to receive 2023 Women Rising Award from WBDC

Gov. Lamont, Sen. Blumenthal to Speak at WBDC’s Annual Women Rising Gala and Awards Celebration on Oct. 27

Tennis Star and Former USTA President Katrina M. Adams will deliver the keynote at WBDC’s annual event to honor Connecticut’s women entrepreneurs and business leaders as part of its mission to promote economic equity for women and strengthen communities through entrepreneurial and financial education services. 

The Women’s Business Development Council will recognize and honor women entrepreneurs throughout Connecticut at its 2023 Women Rising Gala and Awards Celebration on October 27 at the Hyatt Regency in Greenwich. Tennis Star and Former USTA President Katrina M. Adams will deliver the keynote address, and Connecticut Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz will serve as the event’s honorary chair. Governor Ned Lamont and U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal have also been added to the speaking program. 

Several business leaders and women entrepreneurs will also be honored during the event.

The Impact Award honors individuals who have exemplified WBDC’s mission and goals by promoting economic equality and prosperity for women.

2023 Patricia Billie Miller Award for Outstanding Community Service

The Patricia Billie Miller Award for Outstanding Community Service is presented annually to a dedicated WBDC volunteer – an individual whose dedication inspires others to achieve their dreams and exhibits a passion for and commitment to WBDC and the women it serves throughout our state.
