This Week in the City: Danbury Mayor is joined by Tax Assessor to discuss motor vehicle compliance progam

This Week in the City, Mayor Dean Esposito is joined by Donna Murphy, Tax Assessor for the City of Danbury, to discuss the city’s Motor Vehicle Compliance Program.

The City of Danbury provides exceptional public services to residents, and the goal of the Motor Vehicle Compliance Program is to ensure that those who live within the city pay their fair share in taxes.

The program utilizes license plate scanning technology and extensive investigation to identify vehicles permanently located within Danbury that are not registered with the city.

Since the program started in November 2022, we have added over 1,500 vehicles to the Grand List and have billed an additional $459,207 in tax dollars (an additional $100,000 since this video was filmed two weeks ago).

The City of Danbury advises any resident of Danbury to ensure their vehicle is properly registered. For more information, please visit: https://assessor.danbury-ct.gov/207/Motor-Vehicle-Registration-Compliance
