It's not all about fires at Danbury Fire Department headquarters! The Fire Department posted this on their Facebook Page last night:
A gentleman came to Danbury Fire HQ at about 730pm, after picking up an injured red-tailed hawk in the street. The firefighters of "A" Platoon, found a box and made a makeshift carrier for the hawk. Firefighter James Croswell then assisted the gentleman with removing the LARGE, aggravated hawk from being wrapped with the man's suit jacket, and placed him into the box. DC Meehan made a quick call to Christine's Critters in Weston, a raptor rehabilitation center, where they said they would accept the hawk. Since CT EnCon was busy with a serious boat accident, a call was made to DPD Sgt John Krupinsky who arranged to have Animal Control Officer Craig Simone take the injured bird to Weston. Best wishes to our feathered friend.
