On May 1, 2022, at approximately 1:21 AM, the Danbury Police received a call for a serious motor vehicle collision involving a 2010 VW Jetta and a pedestrian near 26 Lake Ave.
The operator of the 2010 VW Jetta was traveling eastbound on Lake Ave. The male pedestrian, 26, of Danbury, was crossing the street when he was struck. After being struck by the VW Jetta, the pedestrian was vaulted into the westbound lane of traffic, where he was struck by a 2011 Toyota Corolla, which was traveling westbound.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the pedestrian was crossing the street and was in the lane of traffic when he was struck. The pedestrian was transported to the Danbury Hospital, where he perished due to the injuries he sustained in the collision.
The collision is under investigation by the Danbury Police Department’s Traffic Unit.
