American Women have too many clothes!
“Women usually love what they buy, yet hate two-thirds of what is in their closets.” Mignon McLaughlin, The Neurotic’s Notebook, 1960
Is your closet stuffed with clothes, some with the tags still hanging from the sleeve? The truth is, you can’t pull together the perfect outfit when your wardrobe is in chaos. Too many clothes take up valuable space and creativity
In this economy, you don’t need to shop. Instead, get your wardrobe working for you. Shop your own closet and you will find plenty to wear.
So lighten up! Weed through the clutter, get rid of the unflattering, and embrace what works for your body and lifestyle. When you’re left with what fits and you enjoy, there won’t be problems finding the perfect dress for drinks, a great outfit for dinner out, or a pulled-together look that’s comfortable for running errands.
Build a closet of basics that fit well, work for your coloring, and enhance your body shape. Add in a seasonal trend that appeals to you, but don’t blow your budget on these short-lived items (they’re called trends for a reason)!
It’s really that easy. You don’t need a sea of clothes to have great style. Now, go have fun!
