From The Staff at Darien Parks and Recreation:
The Darien Parks and Recreation Department announces that entrance and parking lot paving at Weed Beach will commence the week of May 7th. Access to the park will be limited and at times the park may be closed. In addition, work on the Weed Beach playground will be taking place which will require closing of the playground. Depending on weather, we expect paving to be completed in mid-May.
We urge residents to utilize other park amenities during this time including the beach at Pear Tree Point, playgrounds at McGuane and Baker Parks, and playground & restroom facilities at Cherry Lawn Park.
We ask for your patience over the next few weeks as we finalize the improvements at Weed Beach. The renovated Weed Beach is scheduled to be open for Memorial Day Weekend and fun family entertainment is being planned for Saturday, June 2nd.
