Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story!

You're IT Pure Barre Darien!

Three questions with Kristin McClutchy, owner of Pure Barre Darien

Finish this sentence in regard to your business. “I wish I could…”

I wish I could help everyone find their inner strength and potential.  Pure Barre is such a unique work out, you are always learning more about the technique and your individual potential.  No class is the same so you are always challenging yourself in different ways.  It’s that learning process that leads to a stronger you!

Best selling product/service?

Our classic pure barre class is where we started and will always be the heart of the studio.  However, we are always evolving to keep you on your toes.  Earlier this year we introduced Empower, which is a cardio class in an interval format and this fall we will introduce a third class offering called Reform.  We also have an amazing retail boutique filled with the latest trends in athleisure attire.

How many people do you employ? Any youth or seniors from the community?

We have an amazing team of 15 ladies (proud to be female owned and operated!) and we do employee youths from our community, and also participate in the Darien High School Spring internship program.

Pure Barre Darien is located at 1958 Post Road in Darien. Visit them online here.
