Darien Library’s Summer Reading Author Series Brings Bestselling Novelists

Darien Library and Barrett Bookstore are excited to offer a new series of author events this summer.

Kicking off the Summer Reading Author Series is an evening of thrills with three “Queens of Suspense.” Bestselling psychological suspense author Wendy Walker will chat about her explosive new book, What Remains, with fellow bestselling suspense authors Liv Constantine and Tessa Wegert on Tuesday, June 20 at 7 p.m. Refreshments, including a signature “Thrill Seeker” cocktail, will be served. Registrants must be over the age of 21. All attendees will be entered into a raffle to win one of the Library’s Adult Summer Reading grand prizes. Historical fiction fans are in for a special treat: New York Times bestselling author Lisa See will visit the Library on Thursday, June 22 to speak about her latest novel Lady Tan’s Circle of Women. Follow the fictionalized retelling of the true story of a woman in 15th-century China who broke free from tradition to become a physician. Last but not least, discover a tale of shipwreck, survival, and savagery with award-winning writer David Grann on Tuesday, June 27 at 7 p.m. He’ll discuss the mesmerizing true story told in his latest book The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny, and Murder.
